Critical Markism in the 19th Century

In the inter war years, critical marxism began as a reaction to historical determinism. Central figures in this turn were george lucotch, karl corch, ernst block and antonio she. From the 19 twenties on, max horkheimer, theodore dora walter, benjamin eric fraum, herbert marcuse and others affiliated with the institute for social research went into exile. The writings revealed an approach that thoroughly critiqued, in marx's terms of scientific, dialectical materialism that had become orthodox orthodoxy.
