In the twenties, people think of american anticommunism as ae 19 fiftys phenomenon. But certainly in the twenties, they're absolutely terrified of it. They set up the dows committee to go and help germany, which is amazing when you think about isolationism. And why? Why wouldn't they? Because they moved across the atlantic in the first place to avoid all that,. so there is all that coming into it as well.
