John Foster's Military Intelligence Division

John foster was, in many ways, the first really modern us. In 18 92, he started to assign military attaches to american embassies and diplomats. He sent out agents to different european cities to go into military libraries and bookstores so that our defense department would get early warning about foreign advances in arms technology. The man most responsible for the expansion of the military intelligence division was another secretary of state, a guy named robert lansing.
