The Alexander Technique: How to Change Your Thinking
It takes a minute or two before the full effects kick in. And I think that slow direction of effect from body to mind compared to the opposite direction causes a lot of us to not really think about that direction all that much. It's also part of why with the Alexander technique, having people move is very important. If you're just sitting still and trying to just send it one way, I'm going to think this direction, think this direction. You're missing half of the cycle physical hole because you're not getting the movement, the chemistry, the rest of the body involved.
