How Old Were You Growing Up in New Jersey?
I grew up in New Mexico, but always had a relationship with Jersey. I would take the Greyhound bus of the Peter Pan bus from Boston to Port Authority. When you were 13, if you knew the city, you could do that. My best friend Sam Lipside is a novelist. He's got kids and city kids are city kids and they just do that. They live there and they do it. But so that world is was a world.
