Why Am I Reading the Bible?

When we think about reading the Bible and how we should read it, I think it's important first to ask, well, why am I reading this? If I believe that the Bible is this inerrant law book or instruction manual from God, then I'm not going to read it like any other book. But then you start reading it and you realize they're making some historical claims here. And different authors are making different non compatible historical claims. So can we forestall that critical approach? Or do we just ignore it because it's the Bible? Don't get into any of those questions, pal. You're just going to go into a deep dark corner.
