The Story of Melanie Picard and Eric Wintersst
Melanie Picard was the college girlfriend of Eric Wintersst. In 1988, she confided in him that they had killed Danny Picard. The police were unable to press charges due to a lack of physical evidence. A New Hampshire journalist wrote an article about a murder trial and discovered Melanie's identity. She denied ever having spoken with her ex-boyfriend before he tried to get her to confess. Police reopened the case almost 20 years later after receiving new funding. When asked to take a polygraph, Melanie became visibly anxious.
