Parallel Haskell and Parallelism
After my PhD I did a brief foray into type checking Erlang which was lots of fun. Then I went back to working on GHC where we were rewriting the runtime system. And then so Simon Payne-Jones decided to move to Cambridge and go and work for Microsoft Research in Cambridge and I went along with him at the time. So yeah we more or less moved to Cambridge and continued working on Haskell, doing things like parallelism and a whole bunch of different things. You also wrote your book keep during that time, right? Or parallel and concurrent programming in Haskell? Yes the book came out of various, I was doing lectures at summer schools and things like that in concurrency and parallelism
