The Fire at Grenfell Tower
The entire exterior of Grenfell Tower was covered in combustible insulation foam and extremely flammable cladding panels. There was an air gap between them, which created a chimney effect,. Instead of keeping flames where they were, they were whisked upwards. By 1.18 AM, just 34 of the almost 300 residents in the building had escaped. And this was all a disaster that had been 40 years in the making. It was completely impossible to stop.
