Philosopher Daniel Stodger says our ordinary location picks out what he calls a effective relation. So think about, um, uh, these politicians had no idea what it would be like for the UK to leave the EU. But philosophers are interested in a particular experiential way when they say that Mary does not know what it's like to see red. The worry with respect to experimental philosophy is that without making sure people have latch onto the relevant concept, you can't really draw conclusions.
