I was lucky enough to be hired at Paribao before the merger. I got a front row seat on how quickly things can unravel when leverage is excessive. A big crisis might be the end of your career if you're not responsible for that P&L. You're almost permanently scarred by something like that for the rest of your career. It makes you more circumspect. That was my luck, I guess, to be right place, right time.
