In 19 o seven, erasmus became the first high school in america fitted with wireless telegraphy. The old garbage dump at bedford and sullivan earned the nickname pig town for the pigs that actually once ate here. In 19 12 came the ground breaking for a new baseball stadium, completed the following year. That would be ebbott's field, built by charles ebbotts for his baseball team, the brooklyn dodgers. And having the stadium here meant that thousands of new yorkers and brooklynites came to flapbush regularly.
