Egg has good intentions, right? He's really worried about these common people. What's egg going to be like when he hits a teenager and he meets Beth of Blackwood? It's unnerving intentionally so that it's this continuing theme of just showing how these low born, these peasants are kind of seen as property. Like you, you didn't treated like you hurt my animal. You killed my peasant. And we don't like to see that, but we acknowledge that it's a part of this and it was a part of a lot of real history in similar ways.
