The Role of Billing in Documentation

I hear you saying three things. One is that the EHR itself could become more user friendly in the sense easier to use taking less time to actually use. I hear another aspect which is the billing, and then I hear that US physicians are compulsive in writing long notes. Is it possible to separate out some of these trends? Do these all need to be addressed together or are there separate issues which might be addressed?"
