The Riddle of the Labyrinth by Alice Cobour

In 1950, still in his 20s, Ventress looked up all the researchers scattered around the world who were working on Linear B. He wrote to them, effectively setting up a cooperative correspondence. A classicist at Brooklyn College in New York named Alice Cobour was one of the only scholars that declined to answer Ventress's questionnaire. She had a very different hypothesis about what language this is than most of the others.
