How I Got Into Journalism in the Soviet Union
I had no idea how to be a journalist, but it was great. St Petersburg had a wonderful music scene. You could go to the ballet for like 40p. It was absolute heaven. But after about a year there, I had this sort of sudden overwhelming feeling of guilt that I wasn't being a very serious person. So I decided to find another job and I literally just typed into Google English language publication form a Soviet Union. And so I tried to work for Royce's in London for a bit. But it wasn't nearly as much fun writing about the oil product market as it had been bouncing around Russia,. reporting on everything that was happening.So I left after six months
