Neuromuscular Junction Blocking Reversal Agent
The neuromuscular junction mediates muscle contraction and when we block that we stop muscle contraction or paralyze the patient. We use succinylcholine or alternatively in certain scenarios we use rockuronium or vachuronium. Submidox is actually within the vasculature it's not within the neuromoscular junction and it binds with extremely high affinity to rochuronium and vecuronium so it reverses it nearly immediately. It may be useful for patients that we want to rapidly reverse who have used a non-depolarizing neuromuscules blocking agent like rochurum and ve Curonium.
