The CHC Model of the Gifted Individual

The stereo type of gifted individual is that they are uniformly strong across the board in all cognitive abilities, and thus good at everything having to do with learning. The flip side of the gifted stereotype is the learning disabled stereotype. Most of us have uneven profiles, with strength in some areas and weaknesses in others. We may think someone is either smart or not smart, failing to appreciate that people rarely have uniform cognitive abilities. In reality, very few people are good at everything or bad at everything.
