"There's a point in which you almost become numb to it. There is something about the normalcy of most of the scenes in the film, like kind of ordinary places," he says. "I remember thinking at the time, just how potent it was to only have it be these few images of the kind of carnage that is induced as a result of the bomb and have them just kind of sprinkled in there."
