The Importance of Understanding Why You're Asking for Training

I think people have different philosophies about this. Do you really need this training and how do you know? Is it just a feeling? Did you see some advertising? What is the actual benefit? And until you can quantify that, you really shouldn't go asking for it. I've never been part of a training, but I've been around teams that have and they seem to really like it. It's cheaper than conferences overall. You don't have to pay for travel or hotel or anything. But again, you have to convince them that that's a thing they want and it's worth the price.
