The Prayer of the Priesthood
The psalmist sees past the symbol to what it really represents. In verse three, he asks for a different blessing. Set a watch, o lord, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips. That's a great prayer to memorize if your mouth is what gets you in trouble. And especially f we'r trying to avoid evil, like we saw in the previous verse, if you see me headed down the wrong path, then by all means, smike me.
