Nintendo's Decision to Use Synthesized Music in Games
Nintendo decided that the flexibility of synthesized music was a better fit for Twilight Princess. Nintendo had to make a similar decision with their other major franchise, Super Mario Galaxy. Mahito Yekota played three tracks for Shigeru Miyamoto without telling him who wrote them. For the first time in a Mario or Zelda game, the entire soundtrack was recorded with a live 50-piece orchestra.
