The Importance of Avicenna in Philosophy

Atusi's decision to write many of his works in Persian is symptomatic of the Nizati context in which he was writing. Atusi helped to launch Persian as a philosophical language, in part by integrating Arabic terminology into works written in this language. The fact that an Avicenna expert like Atusi turned to miscue for ethics and al-Farabi for political philosophy is telling in this regard.
