Movie Review: Hurt Locker by Catherine Bigelow

Hurt Locker was directed by Catherine Bigelow, who would go on to make zero dark 30 with the same writer of Hurt Locker. The movie doesn't really try to say anything all that interesting or provocative about war in general and the Iraq war in particular. It's not a movie that like actively engages with anything resembling a political question. In fact, it seems to just kind of treat like what Bigelow and seems to be mostly interested in is just sort of this vision of war as like a psychological, not even like a trauma, but almost like a compulsion.
