The idea of separating the who you are from the what you do was a pivotal moment for me. I stopped listening right then and didn't pick the podcast up again for years because I could not answer that question. But when I finally started talking with other people, it's also this sort of very open-ended question. And today I kind of think of the question almost like a co-op, right? So a question that leads to contemplation, but there is no answer.

This week I was excited to welcome Tara McMullen to the show to hear her insights, research, and reflections on her new book, What Works: A Comprehensive Framework to Change the Way We Approach Goal Setting. Tara is a writer, podcaster, and producer who for over 13 years has studied small business owners - how they live, how they work, what influences them, and what they hope for the future.
