The Story of Johann Christopher Blumard

Johann Christopher Blumard was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1805 his older brother would die when he was 11 making Johann the oldest of six. He went to the University of Tübingen in 1824 and graduated in 1829 he was assigned a parish but soon became a teacher at the Basel Missionary Society His theology was generally Lutheran although not necessarily of the Confessional in the strictest sense. In 1838 he moved to nearby Mottlingen and that's a village on the border of the Black Forest there in southwest Germany Near the French border  and that's the setting for this most amazing ordeal.
