How to Deal With Pheromones in Animals

In mice, pups imprint on the maternal odour of their own mother. If you give them the odour of another mother, they don't respond to that. So it's very likely that this imprinting on their own mother allows them to get to their own mother's milk. There have been most of the pheromones that have been actually identified in mice. They're mostly involved in what we call reproductive priming pheromone. These are odours that will change the hormonal status of an animal and make it more or less likely to mate.
