The Role of Estradiol and Progesterone in Menopause
Menopause occurs when a woman hasn't had a period for 12 consecutive months. Estradiol and progesterone are the most prominent, the strongest of the estrogens. During perimenopause, you release one egg per month on average until you start to reach the end of your egg reserves. Your periods may become much more irregular during that period of time. After menopause, LH and FSH actually rise during that period.
