The Problem With Thyroid Medication

The thyroid system is the quintessential example of feedback mechanism. When we give someone levothyroxine or T4, T4 doesn't suppress TSH. T4 needs to be converted to T3 in order to slow down T SH production. So there's a very intimate relationship between T4 and Tsh. The periphery, that's not how it works. You increase T4,T3 holds. T3 doesn't go up because you're losing the IMAES 2. Therefore, why did we, if this is so obvious, just start measuring T2 and T3? But did we measure T3 now? No.
