Why Altruism Doesn't Work in the United States
The idea that Nordic countries are homogenous white Christian monocultures is a complete myth. The reason it works is because people understand their self-interest in having the system work, even though people have disagreements. No one will agree to public services like universal health care in the U.S., but they're incredibly much in everyone's self-interest.
