The Effect of Dots on Visual Attention
There's a bunch of mythology out there about Weaver. What I said when I read the student handbook is Weaver's contribution to she was getting two hands on the gun and bringing the site style level. When you see that dot start to streak across the glass, up, down, left, right, low corner, whatever, it's telling you what you're inputting into that gun with your trigger manipulation or your support hand. And that feedback will carry over to shooting iron sights in a way that irons don't necessarily carryover to shooting the dots.
