The idea is that you're creating multiple things happening simultaneously. Nearly every system that you would use to control your smart home has some mechanism like this. We have a scene called Goodnight Chewy, which is the name of our dog. The trigger can be any variety of things. Proximity, I just got close to the house. That's something that SmartThings and HomeKit enables.
