The Basics of a 401k
The total contribution you can put into a 401k for 2023 is 66,000. That's composed of your employee contributions as well as any employer contributions. Most 401ks these days offer at least a handful of low cost index mutual funds. If the plan allows it, sometimes called omega backdoor Roth IRA contribution.
