Samuel and Abraham used personality tests when evaluating candidates for sales or management positions. He didn't want to demoralize anyone by hiring someone from outside the company to lord over other people. They also instituted a policy in which the vice president would sit down regularly with employees to talk about how they could improve existing jobs.
