Is There a Future for Delivery?
The dominance of delivery aps is threatening an already diminishing stock of corner shops. For those who live alone, especially the elderly, a trip to the local shop and a few friendly words may well be the only human interaction of the day. I suspect the three minute walk had also become simply too much effort and the promise of social interaction unimportant. And so while i am all four new industries that create jobs and make people's lives easier, i wonder if there can be too much ease? We lose the far more fundamental pleasures of effort, delayed gratification and fresh air.
