Intail was a memory business, that's what they did. People whose entire careers were built on memory are getting out of it. Intel both designed and produced their chips, and was actually an anaple sort of integration story. Apple had this very ambitious plan which required a chip that would be integrated between hardware and software. It needed to have deep hooks into the device as well as being able to manage battery power. But again, intel was deciding what needed to be built and was sort of giving it to you.
