The Importance of the State of Nature in Marxism
When Lenin was talking about altering the state in the process of taking it over and revolutionizing, he really stressed the Soviets. He wanted to prevent that ossification into a top down bureaucracy by unleashing the masses on the party itself. And you're also right about the liberal theorists. I certainly don't think they literally believe in the state of nature. There are imaginary hypothetical scenarios that I try to capture with the term 'hypothetical'
