The Univocality of the Bible
I think there are a lot of people who engage the Bible with that goal. They read the text in order to be filled with the spirit and get all these benefits out of it. The reading that has become more popular is the reading that is useful primarily for boundary maintenance, for defense, for identity politics. And I think that demonstrates a concern that James had and James too regarding faith without works.
