The Difference Between Git and GitHub

Git is a distributed version control system. If you're not already familiar with version control, git is less important for especially developers who've been working with older version control systems. It's hard to draw a line between git and GitHub because if you're using GitHub, it should be a really smooth, integrated experience. So GitHub has repositories, hosts repositories, git repositories. It's a place to collaborate on those projects or even just want to keep them somewhere safe.
