Introduction
A wild male orangutan's call is meant to pierce the thickly vegetated tropical peat forest where he lives his mostly solitary life. Orangutans are known for being the most solitary of the great apes. They also want to let other flange males know who might be listening and that they will not tolerate the presence of another male.
