How closely related is scan to reduce really? I was going to ask about an APL didn't always have general scans and reductions, right? No, you could only use arithmetic with it. So then, because they were thought of as the fold, but with the in-between values, then they're thought of as very, very closely related. But you're saying, you might separate them up.
