The Double Bind

As we see divorce becoming more and more popular, at least in america, you'll see it not just happening with the one parent. There's a tug of war going on right between mother and father. And question of either, which one is supposed to have priority? Or knowing that potentially doing what one parent wants while you're with that parent, you might be punished when you go back to the other parent. So having this, these conflicts, of having these kind of contradictions, you know, bateson works through how a lot of this is both conceptual and linguistic.
