The Goal of All This Discipline Is to Have Peace and Fellowship
The goal is that you would have peace and fellowship because the Shalom, the peace of God is what follows obedience and strife. This is why Paul in Ephesians, he tells fathers don't provoke your children to wrath, but raise them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. If you yourself have the wrong vision for what you're trying to accomplish with your life, then you will discipline your children to that vision and probably make them despise you.
