I've Been Thinking a Lot About the Definition of Cancel Culture
Meant Camille: I think that what is a testament to why this letter is resonating for weeks in multiple countries right now is the amount of mail that we've all been getting from people like you're describing. David Brooks had a column today citing a poll that showed 62% of Americans are afraid to say what they actually think on many issues for fear of losing their livelihoods. That's an important part of the definition of cancel culture, and it's not about taking heat on Twitter. It's the heat attached to your livelihood that is extremely troubling.
