How Whiteness Is Enacted Through Civic Buildings and Monuments

i wondered if you could help me understand more about how whiteness is enacted through these kinds of buildings and monuments, and specifically through the design of the university of virginia itself. So i think in my own work, it's been really important to start to understand that this isn't just architecture. It's a question of modernity in the ways in which liberal democracy, liberal subjectivity,. is constructed through europe's project of colonization and eventually imperialism of asia, africa and the new world. And so all these differences are emergent, and architecture is completely entangled with that project.
