In the book of Gideon, God tells him to engage in a fight. When he finally does do what the lord told him to to and goes and tears down the altra bale, he takes ten household servants with him. But when god speaks to gideon, doesn't convince him. He hears one pagan telling another pagan his dream. Now he's ready to fight. It's so often it's not the things that ought to convince us to do the right thing that we get hung up on. No, we're just like gideon. And now this is about gideon as well - but next chapters where he continues his pursuit of the midnite kings who fled at midnight
