Is There a Registry of Owners of Corporations in the United States?
The US has belatedly got round to addressing the issue of anonymity. A bill passed a couple of years ago called the Corporate Transparency Act is supposed to take effect next year. The rules are still being written but there's lots of challenges with it, lots of loopholes. We must close those kinds of loopholes and make sure that if we have a registry of owners that we make sure that it's comprehensive. And then the final one is related because sometimes people will say: well, what about society? What about workers and society in general?"
