The Importance of Interior Monologue in Fiction
A character's interior monologue is the least interesting. Much of it is navel gazing, which is where a character thinks about how she feels about things. Thinking cannot be acted out on a stage when a character is thinking nothing is going on for the reader to watch. Many writers are always advised to show rather than tell.
