The Deposit of Faith

Nicaea is where the church suddenly has a very different relationship to empire, to the civil state. At the end of Nicaea, you also see the council fathers promulgate norms about liturgy and sacraments. And then in the subsequent councils, you begin to see this happen more and more often. We see the deposit of faith unpacked in that way.
