Is There More Opportunity for Older Men?

I get the impression that there was more opportunity for older men to take a more active role in society. Would would that be correct? Again, it depends on the individual. A lot depends upon what you've done in your lifetime. You see this again in rome an egypt, where you get contracts drawn up between children and their parents. They say, well, look after you in your old age, as long as you transfer the property, the control of the farm, over to a written arrangement there.
